If your wish to be called God’s child and Christ’s brother, |
So müssen Herz und Mund den Heiland frei bekennen. |
your heart and mouth must freely acknowledge Him. |
Ja, Mensch, dein ganzes Leben |
Yes, human, your entire life |
Muß von dem Glauben Zeugnis geben! |
must give witness of your faith! |
Soll Christi Wort und Lehre |
Should Christ’s word and teaching |
Auch durch dein Blut versiegelt sein, |
also be sealed through your blood, |
So gib dich willig drein! |
then give yourself willingly to it! |
Denn dieses ist der Christen Kron und Ehre. |
For this is the Christian’s crown and honor. |
