Wenn unsre Feinde toben, |
when our enemies rage, |
Und er unser Sach nicht zufällt |
and He does not conclude our affairs |
Im Himmel hoch dort oben, |
high above there in heaven, |
Wo er Israel Schutz nicht ist |
where He is not the Guardian of Israel |
Und selber bricht der Feinde List, |
and thwarts Himself the deceit of the enemy, |
So ist’s mit uns verloren. |
