German text

English translation

Vergnügte Pleißenstadt,
Contented city of the Pleisse,
—Beglückte Neißenstadt,—
—Fortunate city of the Neisse, –
Dein Labsal,
Your delight
—Dein Blühen,—
—Your flourishing—
wächst und glänzt vor andern allen.
increases and sparkles above all others.
Wer seine Lust an
Whoever takes pleasure in
deinem Prangen,
your splendor,
—deiner Schönheit—
—your beauty,—
übt,
Will fall in love and remain in love with you,
Der wird und bleibt in dich verliebt,
And nothing else will please him more.
Dem kann es nirgends mehr gefallen.
