Has come in our stead |
Und hat die Sünde weggetan, |
And did away with our sin, |
Damit dem Tod genommen |
Thereby taking from death |
All sein Recht und sein Gewalt; |
All its privilege and its power. |
Da bleibet nichts denn Tods Gestalt, |
There remains nothing but death’s shape; |
Den Stachel hat er verloren. |
