Wer Sünde tut, der ist vom Teufel, |
Whoever commits sin, he is of the devil; |
Denn dieser hat sie aufgebracht. |
For this one [the devil] has brought it [sin] forth. |
Doch wenn man ihren schnöden Banden |
But when one resists its [sin’s] odious bonds |
Mit rechten Andacht widerstanden, |
With true acts of devotion, |
Hat sie sich gleich davon gemacht. |
