Ach Gott, wie manches Herzeleid
Ah, God, how much heartache
Nur Geduld, Geduld, mein Herze,
Patience, only patience, my heart,
**Begegnet mir zu dieser Zeit!** Es ist eine böse Zeit!
do I encounter at this time!
**Der schmale Weg ist Trübsals voll,** Doch der Gang zur Seligkeit
it is an evil time!
**Den ich zum Himmel wandern soll.** Führt zur Freude nach dem Schmerze.
The narrow path is full of trouble
Nur Geduld, Geduld, mein Herze,
Yet the way to blessedness
Es ist eine böse Zeit!
that I shall follow to heaven.
