How wise, how merciful is He! |
Die Herde sagt’s den Triften: |
The flock tells it to the pastures: |
Wie mild ist unser Herr! |
How gentle is our Lord! |
Ihm hallt in Wüsteneien |
In the desert, the lion’s thanks |
des Löwen Dank vom Fels zurück, |
are roaring back to Him from the rocks, |
und junge Raben schreien |
and young ravens are crying |
und danken ihm des Lebens Glück. |
and thanking Him for the good fortune of their lives. |
