Singend gehn wir, fröhlich singend	Singing we go along, happily singing
unser bestes Hirtenlied!	our best shepherd song!
Zu der Arbeit gehn wir springend,	To work we go skipping,
dass uns hört, wer uns nicht sieht.	so they can hear us, who do not see us.
Singend gehn wir zum Getümmel,	Singing we go into the tumult,
zu den Herden gehen wir.	to the flocks we go.
Singend gehn wir; unterm Himmel	Singing we go; beneath heaven
ist kein Volk so froh wie wir.	there are no people as happy as we.
