Der Vogel rufet ohne Ruh	The bird calls ceaselessly
im Walde seiner Gattin zu:	in the wood to his mate:
Ach liebe doch, ach liebe!	Ah, but love, ah, love!
Die Gattin hört des Gatten Lieder;	The mate hears the songs of her consort;
ihr sehnlich Girren sagt ihm wieder:	her ardent warbling replies to him:
Ich liebe!	I love!
